The Disney Polynesian Resort is inspired by the tropical islands of Hawaii. I have had the pleasure of visiting the islands and feel encapsulated by the colors, nature, and animals within the environment. Wanting to bring the bright vibrant colors of the island back to the mainland to give the guest a feeling that the cast members are enjoying their vacation alongside them. Working in the costume department I know how important utilizing garments in multiple locations is so in order to help our consolidation efforts I designed the male pants with this in mind. I figured we could use the flat front blue shorts from bell services and merchandising at the Polynesian and create a new pattern on the shirt, to bring all those sensations to our guests.
